What Fits Your Schedule, a Session Pass or a Class Pass? Since our studio has a limited capacity, drop ins are not allowed. Just call or email ahead [24 hours in advance] to register. Many yoga students understand the value of practicing yoga more than once a week. If you’re interested in attending two classes during a session, we offer a Frequent Yoga Discount by reducing the cost of the second Session Pass by 25%!
If you refer a friend who purchases a Session Pass or Class Pass, then you will qualify for $10 off your next Session Pass or Class Pass. Your friend must give you credit for the referral at the time of their purchase. Sorry, no after-the-fact information will be considered. Class Format Classes are categorized under six levels from foundation (Levels 1-3) to Intermediate (Levels 4-5) to advanced (Level 6). Chestnut Hills Yoga currently offers classes at Levels 1, 2 and 3. Additional levels will be added as students safely advance in the foundational practices. Students interested in a wider variety of classes in the Satyananda tradition may explore additional classes at the Atma Center in Cleveland Heights. Level 1 This class is recommended for beginners, those with physical limitations or injuries, or students wishing to deepen awareness by revisiting the physical, energetic and mental aspects of foundational practice. This class emphasizes the Pawanmuktasana (PMA) series of postures (asana) devoted to opening the joints, strengthening the core and releasing energy blocks in the body. This class works on developing the fundamentals of flexibility, strength and inner awareness. Basic breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation practices are also practiced. Level 2 This class builds on practices from Level 1 and begins to introduce more classical yoga practices, including modified sun salutation. This class continues to build strength and flexibility. Practices can be modified to accommodate student needs. Mixed Level 1-2 This class incorporates elements of Levels 1 and 2 and is suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners of yoga, allowing students to practice at their own pace. Private client sessions offer more personalized instruction and are appropriate for anyone looking for a truly one-on-one experience. One-on-one sessions can be customized to individual needs. While classes are more tailored to an individual’s background and circumstances, Chestnut Hills Yoga does NOT provide yoga therapy. Please leave your coats and shoes in the foyer before proceeding to the 3rd floor studio. Dress in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. If wearing shorts, please ensure they are knee length. Bring your own yoga mat or borrow one from the studio. Straps, blocks and blankets are provided. It is best to practice on an empty stomach. Please limit the use of perfumes as some students are sensitive to fragrances. Call or email to sign up for a session. Chestnut Hills Yoga
Session Passes enroll you in a particular class, ensure you a spot in that class once you are registered, and offer the benefit of systematically developed session plans. Session Passes expire at the end of the session. If you miss a class during the session, you can apply the value of the missed class [only once per session] toward the purchase of the immediately subsequent session.
Class Passes provide access to any class at your level or below on a space available basis. Your Class Pass offers flexibility, however you must call or email ahead (24 hours ahead is recommended) to reserve and receive your confirmation of space availability. If you reserve a space and don’t attend the class, that class will count as a used class and will be deducted from your Class Pass. Remember, Class Passes expire 90 days from issuance.
Please register and pay in advance for your preferred Session or Class Pass. Enrollment cannot be secured without receipt of payment and a current health and liability form.
Click here to download the health and liability form.
Enrollment will be determined on a first paid-first served basis. Payment may be made by cash or check payable to Chestnut Hills Yoga. Please drop off or mail payment and health & liability form prior to the first session or class.
Students are welcome to sign up after the start of a session, pending space availability. Please call or email to determine if there is space remaining.
Sorry, no "drop-ins" allowed
Missed Class Policy
Session Pass Holders - The value of one unattended class per session ($13.50) may be applied toward the cost of registration of the immediately subsequent session.
Otherwise, unattended classes will count as a participated class. NO REFUNDS will be offered.

Classes in the Satyananda tradition are balanced yoga practices that honor the capacity of the individual and incrementally introduce new poses. Classes are non-competitive. All classes emphasize safety, pace, and modifications to meet individual needs. Personal awareness is cultivated on and off the mat. Each class includes an initial settling relaxation, postures, breathing practices and final meditation.
Small group and private yoga classes are offered in 4 and 6-week sessions, with one class per week. There is generally a one-week break between each session. Enrollment is limited to 6 students per class.
Students may only attend the session and classes for which they have registered. The studio reserves the right to cancel sessions with two or less participants.
Sorry, we cannot accommodate walk-ins and late arrivals. The studio opens 20 minutes before class and will be locked immediately prior to the scheduled class start time.
Class Descriptions
Yoga is not about a destination, rather a process of connecting with the possibilities at any given moment...
Level 3
This class includes the full sun salutation series and increasingly advanced classical yoga poses. This class requires a solid base level of fitness and is not recomended for those with serious injuries. More advanced meditation and breathing practices are also introduced.
Private ClientClass Etiquette
Remember, a yoga studio is a sanctuary where you can practice the principles of yoga. Students are asked be open to the power of possibilities and to hold a positive intention to be in the present.
